Incorporate yourself into a packed little bar and play similar five Lil’ Wayne tunes over and over. Burned all the cash in your wallet and overdrafted your record $200. Waking up in a hedge somewhere on Blumont Avenue with a headache, missing teeth, not knowing where your phone, wallet, shoes or mental stability are.
Those potential negatives, Aggieville’s charm is undeniable. From realizing that beverage decisions change more than family gatherings, that your decision might be Natty Light or more Natty Light, to space-consuming high energy and rushed enthusiasm, to the basic fact: Auntie Mae’s is more than A is bad on your lawn The dropped brew table is a really cool cooler, and it’s no surprise that tons of K-State students use scannable fake ids to get into the Aggieville bar.
Many K-State researchers admit that they have been using the IDs of more established peers or relatives. While some students used IDs that looked almost indistinguishable from their real IDs, others figured out how to get into the bar with a fake id card that was completely different from their ID.
Matt, a second-year business student who figured out how to get into many bars, had his license terminated, and he was from another state that hardly looked like him.
He understood his potential concerns about using this ID.
“I had it for a long time before I actually tried it. Whenever I used it for the first time, I was shocked,” he said. “The Guardians didn’t reconsider, though. I spent three nights at the pub with no issues.”
A K-State middle school student who asked to be classified as “Jersey” cleared his unprecedented effort to obtain a fake ID. He and two companions drove all the way to Houston to buy a fake id from a “luxury ID store.” The store charged him $100 to browse about a dozen states and pick out all the data on his ID. Jersey soon discovered that a nearby club had recently sent several people to a similar store and obtained fake IDs for each minor section. Aggieville’s guardian knew of the fake and quickly remembered him.
He understands the extremely limited use he gets from ID.
“It worked perfectly from the start, but it took about a month after I got it. I had my mate come back and asked him to get it from the bouncer for $50, but fourteen days later it’s currently in Pat’s [ The Blue Rib’n] was taken.”
The results of using id card fakes in Aggieville were found to fluctuate from pub to pub. Most bars simply grab what they suspect is a fake ID and remove the individual from the bar. Students who decide to use a fake ID to go to Aggieville face extreme penalties. Under Kansas rules, anyone using a fake ID card or someone else’s ID could face fines of up to $1,000. Often full fines are not enforced, and researchers can get fines of many dollars. In any case, for the unfortunate average undergrad, two or three hundred dollars, plus the cost of drinks, might make an outing to Aguiville with id card fake more expensive than the experience is worth.
