CC, a replacement student at UNC Chapel Hill, was found by police on Franklin Street using a free fake id. “I was caught because I was too drunk outdoors. The police stopped me and looked at me. They thought my id card was fake and took it,” he said. “It was expensive. I hired a legal counsel. I got a ticket for using a fake ID. I had 100 hours of community service. Instead of simply using his ID to buy alcohol at the gas station, RH has the option of bypassing guardians who check fake IDs late at night. “I got into clubs, I got into bars, I got into all sorts of places with these scannable fake ids and I made a lot of money,” he said.

RH offered 20 to 30 fake IDs for $100 each, he said. Although he had the upper hand in making IDs, RH capitulated shortly after he started making IDs because he tried to use one of his IDs to buy alcohol.

One woman who worked in RH town was known to be particularly strict about using fake IDs. He was warned to stay away from her store, but he went to her anyway to prove how real his fake ID looked.
